About Aligned Learning System
Professional Learning That Leads to Lasting Change
At Aligned Learning System, the belief that professional learning should do more than inspire and lead to lead to meaningful, sustainable improvements in classroom practice and student outcomes. This belief heavily influenced the organization structure.
Founded by educator and instructional specialist Marie Walker, Aligned Learning System partners with schools and districts to bridge the gap between professional learning and day-to-day instruction. Through collaborative coaching, practical implementation support, and evidence-informed strategies, Aligned Learning System helps educators transform new learning into lasting instructional practices.
The work is grounded in the belief that lasting improvement doesn’t happen through one-time workshops. It happens through planning, ongoing support, reflection, and continuous refinement. That’s why every partnership is designed around real classroom application, collaborative problem-solving, and measurable impact.
Whether supporting a single school or an entire district, our mission remains the same:
To align professional learning, instructional practice, and leadership systems so every educator has the support needed to make a lasting difference for students.
Core Values
Improvement happens when educators learn and grow together.
Practical Application
Professional learning should be immediately usable, relevant, and connected to everyday classroom practice.
Focus on Impact
Every decision, strategy, and support is designed with one goal in mind; improving outcomes for educators and students.
Meet Marie Walker
With nearly two decades of experience in education, I have dedicated my career to helping educators strengthen instructional practice and improve student learning. I have served as a classroom teacher, instructional coach, literacy specialist, professional learning facilitator, district consultant, and educational leader, partnering with teachers, instructional coaches, principals, and district leadership teams across Kansas.
I holds a Master’s degree in Educational Leadership (Building Administration) and I am currently pursuing my doctorate at the University of Kansas, where my research focuses on how intentional implementation systems improve the transfer of professional learning into classroom practice. My dissertation topic is heavily focused on how implementation support structure influence the transfer of professional learning.
Throughout my career, I have become known for translating educational research into practical strategies educators can implement immediately. My areas of high interest are high-impact strategies, literacy in all content areas, Science of Reading, tiered system of supports (MTSS), and curriculum alignment.
I have facilitated professional learning sessions, coached educators across multiple districts, led instructional initiatives, supported leadership teams, and collaborated with schools to improve instructional systems. I have also served in numerous leadership roles, including literacy leadership teams, district technology committees, MTSS leadership, district evaluation committees, mentor teacher programs, and instructional leadership initiatives.
As the creator of the LASR Framework™ (Launch • Activate • Support • Reflect), I have combined research, implementation science, and practical classroom experience to help schools move beyond isolated professional development events toward sustainable instructional improvement. The framework emphasizes collaborative implementation, coaching, reflection, and continuous refinement so professional learning becomes embedded in everyday practice.
I believe educators deserve support that is collaborative, practical, and focused on impact. Every partnership is built on relationships, trust, and a commitment to helping schools create systems where both teachers and students can thrive.
When you partner with Aligned Learning System, you’re gaining more than a consultant – you gain a collaborative thought partner committed to helping your school achieve meaningful, lasting results. Throughout my different roles, my passion for student learning remains at the core of my work.
